Spring is heating up but AC bills are not cooling down

The heat is on in Michigan.   After a warm winter the mitten state can expect an even hotter summer. That’s right everyone, turn off your furnace because the time has come to turn the air conditioner on.   Before you do though, make sure you check your ac unit for any leaks so that any ac repair can be completed before costs start rising.  One precaution to take for your air conditioner is having your outdoor coils cleaned every year (1).  Coils often times get clogged up which results in energy loss.  By having your air conditioner inspected this early in the season, you can experience great saving over the course of the summer.

Is your family currently comfortable with the job your air conditioner is doing in your house?  If not, it could be your air conditioner is not maximizing cooling efficiency.  Cost can stack up when an air conditioner is not running at peak efficiency. (2) Recent EPA mandates have doubled the price of refrigerant that millions of old air conditioners use.  Luckily for consumers the cost of buying a new air conditioner can be cut down with manufacturer offered rebates and tax incentives.  (2) Consumers stand to save thousands from these discounts.
